The waste management complex sits on 52 acres in Cordele, GA. The plant recycles unsalable sugar-based products like soft drinks, beer, distilled spirits, molasses and candy. These are used as feedstock and converted to energy by fermentation or by being distilled.
The distressed, out of date or unsalable products are processed into fuel-grade cellulostic ethanol, a 100% renewable advanced bio-fuel.
Ethanol Pasteurization Process
Ethanol is used by major oil companies as a clean-air additive in their gasoline blends to meet the EPA's Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS). Ethanol is a renewable fuel which reduces: tail-pipe emissions, greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide emissions and ground level ozone.
